IMPORTANT
AI makes it fast. DBJ Method makes it possible.

Operational efficiency

Operational efficiency is delivering what the Business declared, with the least people, time, money and systems spent on the way. In the DBJ Method the Business and Products declare what is right, so efficiency always means delivering the right thing. Feasibly and on time.

What AI changes

AI makes output dangerously cheap. A new website, a campaign or a first implementation can be produced in minutes. Lack of a method, raises output, not efficiency. The same handovers remain, the same decisions go unrecorded, and rework grows with speed. An organisation that is not ready for AI produces its legacy faster. Still the wrong thing but faster.

Efficiency first, then AI

Operational efficiency and adoption

The adopting organisation uses the DBJ Method as its operating model, and Resilient ROI advises on the implementation. The adopter is at DBJ CMM L5 before anything else happens: every person, in every team, in all three domains, has passed the L5 exam.

The order matters:

  1. First, the organisation improves its operational efficiency without AI. Legacy handovers, unrecorded decisions and workarounds are resolved on the method alone.
  2. Then it transforms to improving operational efficiency through automation and AI.

AI accelerates an organisation that already runs efficiently. It does not repair one that does not.

How the DBJ Method delivers it

The DBJ Method turns AI speed into operational efficiency by aligning business, products and technology, iterating independently of each other.

  1. One vocabulary. The DBJ Taxonomy gives every domain the same names for the same things. AI output lands in the right place and is not re-translated between departments.
  2. One operating loop. In the B ↔ P ↔ T loop, the Business declares the products, Product defines them, and Technology implements them. The Evaluate activity stream measures outcomes against business objectives and feeds the next cycle.
  3. Maturity before anything. DBJ CMM L5 is the entry ticket to the BPT Loop, and it is personal: each person passes the L5 exam before any work inside BPT starts, and before AI accelerates any of it.
  4. Decisions written down. ADM deliverables and the Business Decision Record keep the reasoning in the loop, not in people’s heads or in an AI session.

Maturity is measured

Organisation Maturity is the component of organisation’s KPI. It is measured after the DBJ CMM Training, when every person has passed the L5 exam. An organisation measures its operational efficiency not by what AI helped it deliver, but by what it is now able to deliver. With optimised speed.
